I was reading the post about the person who got all the harry potter books for christmas, and I was just wondering what the best spede to burn a CD is. I mostly use Itunes to burn my CDS, and I have it set to 24X, and to first check if the CD will have enough room, and to check the CD after burning. I do not know the fastest speed it can burn at, but I can find ou if anyone wants to know. I haven't touched the speed setting since I installed Itunes, but if there is a way that I can get the CD burn a little faster, and not have it scratched up, that'd be great. Thanks, Mike
I have burned CDs at 52x normal speed before with no problems and without verifying the data. If you buy reasonably high-grade blanks then you shouldn't need to do any data verification (which will drastically speed up the burning process). You can also just set the process to burn at 'maximum speed' which will use the fastest speed for your drive and the disc being used. I find there is no reason to use anything other than maximum speed unless you get write errors, then you can try reducing the speed if necessary. I hope this helps.
